Hangzhou Lecos Packaging Co.,Ltd | Updated: Jul 27, 2018

By 1998, the world had consumed 2.4 million tons of nonwoven cloth. In 1970 it consumed only 400,000 tonnes, and by 2007 it was expected to consume 4m tonnes. Nonwovens are made mainly in the United States (41% of the world), Western Europe (30%), Japan (8%), China (3.5%) and the world (17.5%).

Man-made fibres still dominate the production of nonwoven fabrics, and that will not change much until 2007. Worldwide, 63 percent of the fibers used in the production of nonwoven fabrics are polypropylene, 23 percent are polyester, 8 percent are viscose, 2 percent are acrylic fibers, 1.5 percent are polyamide, and the remaining 3 percent are other fibers.

The application amount of nonwoven fabric on sanitary absorbing materials, medical materials, transportation tools and footwear materials has increased significantly.
