While many of us prefer to use glass or metal for our household items wherever possible, some plastic containers occasionally make their way into our lives. Cleaning and reusing these containers is one of the best ways to keep plastic from turning into plastic waste.
The following methods are mainly used for cleaning:

Plastic containers for lipsticks, lotions, oils, sprays, creams and ointments are ready to be reused. Opaque, clear and amber plastic bottles are recyclable and reusable.

Plastic containers cannot withstand the heat of glass or metal, so it's important to clean these containers more carefully.
Plastic containers are also often used to package oily ingredients, so you'll want to wipe them down as much as possible with a paper towel or clean towel first.
Remove all old labels as above, but keep in mind that labels do stick to plastic more easily than glass. This DIY natural sticker remover recipe also works on plastic. I just added a little baking soda to the plastic bottle, which helped increase the scrubbing power.
Plastic cleaning process
Follow steps 1 to 6 above to clean the glass bottle.
Soak the container pieces in hydrogen peroxide (3%) for 10 to 15 minutes. Dry in a clean environment.
Now you can reuse these jars and bottles!
However, if your bottles cannot be reused for their original purpose, remember that they can also be used on more crafty adventures.
Container Cleaning Pro Tips
It's really important to have mini brushes in the process! I recommend buying a variety of sizes; they all seem to come in handy. If you can't find them, check the water bottle section of your local store. They are often called straw brushes. You can also find them in baby areas with bottles.
If you can coordinate bottle cleaning when making a new herbal preparation, you can use the bottle right away. However, if you plan to use them again for a while, we recommend giving them a good clean again before use.
If you have a dishwasher, this can also be used to sanitize. You need to avoid running them at the same time as heavily soiled dishes.
Before your glass bottle is no longer usable, the top of your bottle may fail or become dirty. You can always change the cap type of the bottle and order a new one so you can reuse the base. For your convenience, we carry the mister, dropper and even the serum pump top separately.
