How To Use A Dropper Dropper For Essential Oils

Oct 14, 2022

Essential Oil Droppers If you're in the essential oil business, you know that users tend to turn the bottle upside down and start shaking it to release the product. They do it because their minds realize they can't squeeze a glass bottle - but quickly spill product.

The key to ensuring that customers are very happy with your oil is to indicate on your packaging how the product is to be used and to encourage users to let the dropper insert do all the work.

If your product uses a vertical dropper, instruct the user to turn the bottle upside down 180 degrees. Then they should let the pressure difference happen. When the oil droplets fall, air enters with the right amount of oil distribution.

On the other hand, if your product uses a horizontal dropper, instruct the user to turn the bottle like you would pour a bottle of wine—about 135 degrees. When air enters and the droplet falls immediately, the pressure difference will occur again.

Regardless of the dropper insert your product uses, the flow rate of your essential oil should have the following characteristics:

The first drop should be dispensed within 3-5 seconds

Subsequent droplets should flow every 1-3 seconds
