Working Principle And Characteristics Of Axial Flow Pump

Mar 11, 2020

1.Working principle of axial flow pump

Axial flow pumps and centrifugal pumps work differently. It mainly uses the thrust generated by the high-speed rotation of the impeller to lift water. The lift generated by the axial flow pump blades to the water can push the water from below to above.

Axial flow pump blades are generally immersed in a pool of water that is sucked in. Because the impeller rotates at a high speed, under the action of the lift force generated by the blades, the water is continuously pushed upwards to make the water flow out along the outlet pipe. The impeller rotates continuously, and the water is continuously pressed to a high place.

2.General characteristics of axial flow pump

(1) The flow direction of water in the axial flow pump is suction in and axial flow out along the axial direction of the impeller, so it is called axial flow pump.

(2) Low head (1-13 meters), large flow and high efficiency, suitable for drainage and irrigation in plains, lakes and rivers.

(3) No irrigation is required before starting, and the operation is simple.
